Thanks for the video. I love these old industrial Singers, some are quite different than their domestic models of the time. I would love to see a part 2 if you ever get around to it. I am assuming this machine is similar to the 107W which seems more common at least on RUclips.

My bobbin winder is disengaged on my singer 1409. But the sewing parts do not function, plus the motor hums, when I engage the foot pedal.

Update: I cannot get my Juki repired on-island it seems. So, I watched this video again and found my problem is the same you found, the looper shaft seized. I've now tried some penetrating oil, and will be paying attention to that for a while. Thanks millions.

I had the same problem and it was solved thanks to your video. Be careful however: beneath the ceramic part is a white plate as you can see on the video. I am sure this is ASBESTOS containing material! Moisten it a little bit before tampering with it. To avoid any ASBESTOS fibers flying around

Thank you, I picked up a used 830 from an opshop and found it wasn't able to trigger the zig zag. Looks like it just needs an oil, but um what grease should I use on the gears, mine is dry as a bone.

I’m having a serious problem with the hand crank and the needle position bar and I have backstage passes from my 80s touring with rock bands all over my machine and I hesitate bringing it in to service since my guy retired two years ago. Any tips on helping me get my Bernina 930 record back on top it, I pushed it I have to confess I was doing some shears and I could hear it grinding and I just kept sewing because I had to go to a clients and deliver and it grind it right down to a stop and good thing I had another machine although it was my consew and it was heavy duty but I managed to make it work but now I’m sitting here trying to fix my machine I’ll send you a picture…

Thank you so much for this video. I opened the panel for the pulleys and the belt for the lower one is frayed. Now, I know what's needed to get the machine humming. It is time for a servicing but I will be able to identify the "fix" (hopefully no others needed) for the technician.

I came out to get a marvelous Husqvarna 21, now that it is repaired I would like to fin gear cams to complete the set: I am looking for cams A and B, and am also interested in D and E if someone doesn't use them! Do you know where I could find such parts? None on eBay at the time being

Very nice. 👏. As an additional hint, I tape painter’s tape (blue) to the underside of the screw bracket of the feed dog cover. In this way, I don’t scratch the machine bed. 🥰

Great video, thanks. I have one of these machines and tried to replace the drive pulley, as instructed in one of your other videos. However, perhaps the motor shaft is longer or the motor positioned differently, but there seems to be no way to get the pulley off without lowering the motor. Now I know how to do this. Thanks.
